Retention Marketing Manager

We are looking for a rockstar Retention Marketing Manager to join our growing team.  In this position, you will guide Scale’s growing brands in both short and long-term engagement strategies through creation of programs driving improved repeat purchase rates, annual recurring revenue and lifetime value.  


Specifically, you will:

  • Increase subscription revenue by getting 1x purchasers to be long-term subscribers
  • Reduce churn by developing marketing strategies that drive on-going customer engagement through the customer portal and distinct content
  • Improve Customer LTV through upsell and cross-sell personalization techniques
  • Help shift customers from going back through paid digital channels to “free” retention channels (email, organic, SMS, etc)
  • Expand repeat AOV through product bundles, subscription improvements and special offers for returning customers
  • Align with email team at developing and running experiments (test, test, test) to optimize retention channel performance
  • Develop customer segmentation and corresponding campaigns to these segments to drive improved performance
  • Produce reporting and dashboards to provide visibility into retention marketing performance 

Qualifications:

  • Min 5+ years of experience in D2C retention marketing for a high growth subscription or ecommerce organization
  • Min 2+ years of experience managing a subscription or membership program
  • Min 2+ years of experience with Email, SMS, Web Push Notifications and Mobile Apps (direct mail experience is a plus)
  • Direct knowledge of loyalty programs and/or campaigns
  • Proven track record of working at the strategic and tactical level to develop and execute innovative Customer Retention Marketing initiatives
  • Strong analytical knowledge and communication skills, comfortable communicating reporting, insights, and data-driven optimization strategies
  • Self-starter and independent as well as a team player (depending on effort)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
