Social Media Community Manager

We are looking for a motivated and energetic Social Media Marketing and Community Manager with at least 4 years of experience in the health and/or wellness industry. Please do not apply if you do not meet the below criteria. 


Those without proven community management and marketing experience will not be considered.


The 1MD Social Media Marketing and Community Manager role is responsible for overseeing social strategy across designated social channels; creating, managing and driving traffic to our 1MD.org website, growing our social community, and building out our brand reputation management. This person has a deep passion for customer service and is well versed with all social media platforms (both paid and organic), content marketing, and community management. 


Working collaboratively with our Content Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies for 1MD’s social media profiles, fostering community, generating content, growing engagement and reach, and driving positive reputation management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and/or wellness and is a social media and community building rockstar.


As a social media and community manager, we expect you are a highly motivated, a self-starter and results-oriented. You should have excellent written communication skills and possess the unique ability to express the brands’ views creatively, while also being able to drive tangible, metric driven results, and keeping up-to-date on the latest digital technologies and social media trends.


Job Responsibilities

  • Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
  • Rapidly test methods of growing social presence and community on relevant social channels 
  • Design and implement social media strategies to align with key business goals that target an older-audience (customers usually range in age from 55-75)
  • Set specific KPIs and reporting on ROI from these engagement activities
  • Possess a keen eye for refined, authoritative, share-worthy graphic design aesthetic
  • Work with in-house and outside service teams to generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos, and news)
  • Collaborate with marketing, customer service, and video teams to improve social engagement
  • Grow UGC and followers while driving towards exceptional online reputation management
  • Address customer complaints and concerns delivered through social channels
  • Uphold and elevate 1MD’s design and aesthetics across all social channels
  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like social promotions and competitions 
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends

Essential Skills


Minimum of 4 years of experience with community and influencer management, social media strategy, content development in the health and/or wellness industry. Experience managing a brand’s social community. Proven success in working in social media e.g., managing community outreach, building brand advocacy programs, driving engagement, and growing following. Comprehensive understanding of all social platforms (especially Pinterest, Facebook, Facebook Groups, and YouTube). Strong understanding of current social media trends.

  • Proven work experience as a Social media manager for a minimum of 4 years
  • Hands on experience in content management and scheduling
  • Excellent copywriting & editing skills 
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video) while building stories
  • Basic knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics 
  • Knowledge of online marketing channels and sales funnels 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to juggle many tasks simultaneously
  • Holds self accountable, sets high standards for his/her self, is a self starter and loves collaboration
  • Hungry to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
